Dry Ice Pellets

Arctic Dry Ice pellets are guaranteed fresh, high density, premium quality and made to order.

Typically used for keeping foods and perishable items frozen, dry ice has approximately three times the cooling capacity as traditional wet ice, and is extremely cost effective. Unlike water, dry ice does not melt into a liquid state, instead it sublimates from a solid to a gas meaning your products not only stay colder, longer, they also remain dry.

We sell dry ice by the pound in any quantity you would like. Our minimum purchase is 5lbs and we can also deliver bulk shipments in 600 or 1500lb insulated containers.

Safety

Handling

Dry ice is an amazing medium but with a temperature of -109°F it’s cold enough to freeze skin cells and cause burn like injuries if not handled properly. Never allow dry ice to come in direct contact with skin. Always handle dry ice with protective gloves or a towel.

Ventilation

Dry ice does not melt like wet ice, it converts to carbon dioxide gas. If left in a confined space, the carbon dioxide gas will displace oxygen which may result in a suffocation hazard. If dry ice has been left in a confined space (such as a small room or closed vehicle) for more than 10 minutes, open the doors and windows before entering. Leave the area immediately if you experience shortness of breath or have difficulty breathing.

Storage

Never store dry ice in a container that is completely airtight. We recommend using Arctic Dry Ice containers. When dry ice sublimates to carbon dioxide gas, the gas pressure greatly expands. This expansion will cause an airtight container to expand and possibly explode, which may result in injury or possibly death.
